Help
How AI Tutor works, step by step. Short answers for the things you do most.
Guided tour
A short walk through the home page and a lesson. It only points at things and explains them: nothing is clicked or saved. Press Esc to leave it at any time.
Inside a lesson, press ? and choose “Tour this lesson” for the classroom part.
Create a lesson
Use New lesson in the sidebar. Describe the lesson, or pick a subject and grade from the quick picks.
- Write the description in the language the lesson should be in (English, Bahasa Indonesia or Chinese); the lesson follows it.
- Attach course material (PDF, Word or PowerPoint). Its text and pictures are read in your browser and used in the lesson.
- The outline is shown for review before the slides are made (you can change this in Settings › System). A lesson takes about a minute; the first scene can play before the rest is ready.
- School guidelines in Settings › System apply to every lesson you generate.
Teacher avatar
Teacher avatar (in the sidebar) chooses who presents your lessons: a stock teacher in a realistic, illustrated or 3D style, with a voice. Or create a digital twin of yourself from a photo and a short voice recording; the twin takes about two minutes to make.
Your choice is remembered in this browser.
Manage your lessons
- Lessons can be sorted into folders, searched, and filtered by language, subject and grade.
- Import a lesson file (.maic.zip) from the Lessons header; export one from the top bar of the lesson.
- When your school signs in through the learning platform, students see only published lessons: use Publish on a lesson card.
- Edit course (if enabled) opens the editor for slides, narration and quizzes.
Courses
Lessons can be grouped into a course. A course tile on Lessons shows its subject, grade and languages; open it to see the lessons in order and the course’s knowledge graph, a map of how its topics build on each other.
Question bank
Question bank (in the sidebar) collects reusable quiz questions from your lessons, tagged by course, lesson, objective, difficulty and language. Pick questions to put together a new review quiz.
Knowledge base
Where it is turned on, Knowledge base (in the sidebar) holds your syllabus, notes, past papers and school rules. New lessons and the AI tutor use them and name the document they came from.
Teach a live class
In a lesson, open the live class panel and choose “Start live class”. Students join with the code, and their screens follow yours. You can lock their navigation, push a quiz to everyone, see how many answered and reveal the answers.
Watch a lesson
Open a lesson from Lessons. The teacher presents it slide by slide; press Play (or Space) to start or pause.
- The scene list on the left shows where you are; click a scene to go there.
- Voice / Captions in the toolbar switches between the spoken narration and captions only.
- Live teacher (if your school turned it on) shows a live video teacher who speaks the lesson; click it to turn it on or off.
- The fullscreen button (or F11) shows the lesson on the whole screen, for example on a classroom projector.
Study tools in the classroom
All study tools sit in the Study tools bar above the slide (also in fullscreen): Notes, Bookmark, Calculator, Ask, Transcript and Photo.
- Notes & Bookmark: “Bookmark” saves the current line; “Notes” opens your notes and bookmarks for this scene or the whole lesson. Notes support Markdown, and “AI summary note” drafts a note from the scene for you to edit.
- Ask: select text on a slide, in the transcript or on the whiteboard and a small menu appears: Explain, Translate only, Translate + explain, Summarise, Ask the teacher, or Add to notes. The teacher speaks the answer. The Ask button also lets you ask about the current slide.
- Calculator: opens a basic, scientific and graphing calculator. Your teacher can turn it off for a lesson or a quiz.
- Transcript: shows what the teacher says in this scene, the current line highlighted; click a line to play from it. The “Notes” tab in the right-hand panel lists every line of the lesson.
- Photo: take or upload a photo of your work and ask about it.
Ask the teacher
You can interrupt the lesson with a question at any time. Press T (or the text button next to your picture at the bottom), type your question and send it. The lesson pauses and the teacher answers aloud.
When the teacher says “Your turn”, you can ask a follow-up. If you stay silent for a few seconds, the lesson continues where it stopped.
If voice input is available, press V to ask by speaking. Esc closes the question box.
